Public Health - Seattle & King County's Violence and Injury Prevention Unit program leads and staffs the King County Traffic Safety Task Force. The coalition collaborates with local organizations, law enforcement, and volunteers to help promote safe driving and educate citizens on traffic safety issues.

 

Programs and Activities

  • Partner, with Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center, on the “Last Call” designated driver/safe ride home project.
  • Task force part of Public Health – Seattle & King County’s Violence & Injury Prevention Unit.
  • Member of the Rainier Avenue Traffic Safety Corridor Project.
  • Instrumental in passing an all ages bicycle helmet regulation for Seattle and King County
  • In June 2005, released a report that looked at pedestrian fatalities in King County.
