19TH ANNUAL IMPAIRED DRIVER TRAFFIC SAFETY CONFERENCE December 12-13, 2006 SeaTac Marriott Hotel Jennifer E. Green, Deputy County Attorney, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office |
|
Jennifer Green came from a family of teachers, not lawyers. She always figured that she would teach as well, until her sophomore year of college when a friend announced plans to go to law school. The seed was planted. After completing her B.A. in English, cum laude, from Arizona State University, University Honors College, she earned her J.D. from Arizona State University, College of Law in 1997. From the beginning of her legal career, Jennifer has been a public service lawyer. She first clerked for the Arizona Court of Appeals before becoming a Town Prosecutor for Gilbert, Arizona. currently, Jennifer is a Deputy County Attorney and Assistant Bureau Chief who has compiled quite an impressive trial record. She was once told that as a prosecutor in Arizona, she was a "minister of justice." While she smiles at the lofty expression, she really believes that the expression reminds her that "lawyers should try to do the right thing, everyday." Despite a busy trial schedule, Jennifer is involved in several other activities. She is past president of the Sandra Day O'Connor American Inn of Court. She is also president of the Maricopa County Bar Association's Young Lawyer Division. She co-chaired Law Week, an ambitious program designed to educate and inform the public about the legal profession. She also helped to create and nurture the Barristers Ball, which brings together the legal community to raise money for worthy causes. Recently, she has raised money for the Justice Museum - an education center to learn about the county court system, and for Arizonans for Children - a youth based charity. On top of all that, she is on the Maricopa Couinty Bar association's board of directors and member of the domestic violence committee. Jennifer also coaches a girls' T-Ball clinic, where she no doubt will influence the next generation to be as public-service oriented as she is. |
