Walla Walla Traffic Safety Task Force

Overview

The Walla Walla County Traffic Safety Task Force works with local organizations, law enforcement and volunteers to help educate citizens on pedestrian and traffic safety issues.

Task Force Goals

• Reduce the number of impaired driver traffic deaths
• Increase community involvement in Task Force sponsored events
• Reduce underage alcohol possession, consumption and DUI arrests
• Maintain the high use of safety belts in the county
• Increase proper usage and installation of child passenger safety seats
• Increase awareness of bicycle and pedestrian safety

Recognition Ceremonies

Annual Traffic Safety Awards Program recognizes those individuals and/or groups who have promoted traffic safety and DUI awareness.

Task Force Meetings

Open to the public; held on the third Thursday of each month at 12 Noon. Contact Task Force Coordinator for meeting locations.

DUI Victim Impact Panel

Every 15 Minutes Program

Task Force coordinates this county-wide program aimed at reducing underage drinking and driving. Every 15 Minutes Synopsis (pdf 122.47 KB). 

DUI Victim Memorial Park

Current or past citizens of Walla Walla County who died as a result of being a victim of a DUI collision are memorialized with a tree and plaque. DUI Memorial Walkway (pdf 1.2 MB).

Walla Walla Valley Child Passenger Safety Team

Presentations, classes and car seat check up events are offer through the Traffic Safety Task Force’s Child Passenger Safety Team.
